Ann Williams Cass
Executive Director
Ms. Ann Williams Cass has been with the organization since September of 2006 and operates under the direction of a community led Board of Directors and is responsible for proper utilization of funding as well as overseeing program development and administration.Ms. Cass' involvement with self-help housing has benefited Proyecto Azteca in terms of seeking stability and capacity for the organization, improvements to the self-help affordable design, economic development initiatives, and most importantly, networking with other organizations in the community.
Proyecto Azteca is part of the Rio Grande Equal Voice Network and Ms. Cass chairs the netwrork health care and housing working groups. The Equal Voice Rio Grande Valley Housing Coalition as been very active in monitoring the Hurricane Dolly Disaster Relief funding.
Prior to coming to Proyecto Azteca, Ms. Cass was the Pastoral Administrator of Holy Spirit Parish in McAllen, Texas, for twenty five years. She co-founded the Family Health and Resource Center in McAllen, TX, which provides medical and mental health services with volunteer health professionals. Ms. Ann Williams Cass worked as administrator for the United Farm Workers, AFL-CIO, in Texas during the 1980′s.
She holds a Masters in Pastoral Studies with a focus in Parish Administration from Loyola University in New Orleans, and a BA in biochemistry. Ann brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in community and economic development issues on the South Texas Border to housing, health care, immigration and education.

Amber Arriaga-Salinas
Assistant Executive Director
Amber Arriaga-Salinas, joined Proyecto Azteca in March 2014.

Mrs. Arriaga-Salinas is responsible for the human resource work, procurement, grant writing and implementation of certain grants. She provides quality control to ensure timely achievement of program benchmarks, correspondence as needed and recommends and implements any changes needed to improve program effectiveness.
Additionally, Mrs. Arriaga-Salinas is in charge of all media relations, community organizors, volunteer efforts, fundraising, networking with businesses, community leaders and elected officials in the local community and throughout the state and country.

Mrs. Arriaga-Salinas also serves as the press officer for the Rio Grande Equal Voice Network, a coalition of 10 nonprofits in Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy counties.
Mrs. Arriaga-Salinas came to Proyecto Azteca after having an extensive career as a legal and political organizer and campaign staffer and campaign manager. She is a valley native and graduated from the University of Texas Pan American in 2010 with B.A.’s in Political Science and Psychology. Mrs. Arriaga-Salinas is doing what she loves as her passion has always been helping to empower the under served in her community.
Community Organizers
Proyecto Azteca's Community Organizers are focused on doing outreach in colonias and other rural areas where Proyecto Azteca builds and provides services. Proyecto Azteca's community organizers have been successful in developing wonderful relationships between community members, city officials and county commissioners anas a result have made positive changes in their areas.
Ana Zamarron
Finance Director
Ana Zamarron serves as Proyecto Azteca’s Finance Director; Ms. Zamarron began working at Proyecto Azteca in 2005 qualifying families in our Family Support Department. After displaying great skill and capacity in 2006 she was promoted to Assistant Finance Director where she excelled and in 2009 she was elevated to Finance Director. In this capacity she coordinates all financial operations in collaboration with executive level input.
Ms. Zamarron works to prepare the annual audit; manages accounts payable and receivable for construction and operations; oversees requests for reimbursement; manages bank draws and transfers; and prepares financial reports for funders and for the Board. Ms Zamarron is a graduate of South Texas College and was a member of the Accounting Society.

The department helps families before, during and after construction and makes sure that all their questions and concerns regarding buying a new home are addressed.
